The Internal Medicine department comprises of well- qualified, competent and experienced consultants who have gained expertise in dealing with the diagnostic dilemmas and treating highly complex health situations that are particularly perplexing in the setting of general practice. The department of medicine believes in team approach towards patients and thus a multi-disciplinary team approach is desired. A team comprising of physiotherapists and nutritionists also play a vital role not only in patient care but in patient education as well.
This vast department is supported by fully fledged center in the fields of Cardiology, Nephrology, Pulmonology, Neurology, and Gastroenterology & Endocrinology. The Center for Internal Medicine is also an ideal starting point for patients requiring specialist care as we co-ordinate the therapeutic efforts of multiple departments to make the best decisions for the patient.

Out-patient Care
Out patient care by senior eminent physicians is available in the out-patient department. Routine day to day problems like UTI, Viral fever, Typhoid, Malaria, COPD, Bronchial Asthma, Pneumonia, Hypothyroidism, Liver diseases like Hepatitis are the common attendees.
In-patient Care
Sick patients with acute problems like Acute Gastroenteritis, Pneumonias, UTI, Sepsis, Accelerated Hypertension, Diabetic- complications etc. are admitted in the hospital either in the ward or critical care depending upon the severity of condition.
Management of chronic diseases: It classically includes elderly patients with multiple problems like Diabetes, Hypertension, Joint pains, Breathing problems (COPD), Vision and hearing problems. Co-ordination with different specialists is achieved to treat the patient as a whole.
Infectious diseases such as Malaria, Typhoid fever, Tuberculosis and Dengue fever etc can present itself in atypical manner and pose a challenge for the attending physician. However challenges are dealt with smoothly in lieu of the physicians esteemed experience.
Critical care
We have a very modern and world class intensive care unit with step down intensive care wards. Intensive care units have all modern facilities with very efficient nursing care of 2:1 patient nurse ratio. We have a fully fledged medical & surgical ICU in emergency unit too. It is run by postgraduate senior medical registrars & intensive care senior consultants having a vast experience in India and abroad.
Pre-operative check-up
Senior consultants of the department of internal medicine are involved in preoperative checks in addition to anesthetist's assessment to manage and pick up existing medical problem prior to surgical procedures as well as to take appropriate measures prior to surgeries. Often consultants are required to manage medical problems coexisting with surgical conditions and a fine co-ordination is maintained in the department in the interest of the patient.
Preventive Health Check-up department
An integral part of internal medicine department, exists separately in our hospital. It was set up with the maxim of "Prevention is better than cure". It deals with various types of preventive health check-ups required according to the need and age-group of the patient. A patient is given consultation by a senior consultant of the hospital.
